Skywatch Friday - Flaming June UK

This was taken last evening in that in-between time before sunset. It had been a warm, sunny, very breezy day. I believe these are called altocumulus undulatus

This was taken a few moments ago. It's a warm day again, though not sunny - yet - and the sky is layered with banks of clouds - altostratus?

(I have been referring to 'Clouds' by Eric M. Wilcox; he is an atmospheric scientist at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center)

  9. Thanks for doing justice to grey clouds; I love the unspectacular but highly interesting formations clouds make, and I'm glad to see somebody else who's not entirely governed by sunsets!

  17. Very moody clouds. We've had a longish stretch of sun here (unusual for Victoria in June). Thanks for stopping by my blog.
