SkyWatch Friday Season 4 Episode 33

Late afternoon walk, February 21st, 2010.
It had been a dull, overcast day, though mostly dry. The skies looked stormy and sure enough we had rain later on . . . and every day since. The water table must be extremely high by now and we are fortunate that we do not live on a flood plain. I half expect to see ducks and geese and swans in our garden, it's so wet  . . .

This is quite a range--and very peaceful; wintry, yet not blatantly so. Sometimes less drama is rather welcome. Happy weekend!

Groan. Yes, grey and damp. Still, at least there's minimal chance of sunburn.

Ahh, those velvety blue clouds and the silhouetted trees...my kind of beauty. Hope it dries out some for you.
Have a lovely weekend, my friend!

The sky does look ominous. Yet the shots are very beautiful.

As a hydrologist I approve of this post. Sky's are always invigorating ... no matter how cloudy. (How's the UK doing in the Olympics by the way? Is there a particular winter sport that's popular over there?)

These are gorgeous skies to look at, however wet, Janice.

Soon the rain will stop for you and spring will come and with it new images while here on the other side of the world we might get some proper rain.

The sky is quite dramatic in these photos. I imagine the clouds were moving quickly. I really like the silhouette, especially in the second and fifth photos.

Thank you all for leaving such positive comments.
re: Winter Olympics - Gold medal in the women's luge, the Brits were expected to do well in the men's curling, but didn't, women's 2-man(woman?) bobsled was disastrous - my viewing has been somewhat patchy and disjointed, sadly. I haven't seen any ice dance or figure skating but have marvelled at the speed skating and found the curling strangely relaxing!

Beautiful stormy sky views ... your skies look similar to the ones we experienced on Friday and Saturday when we had RAIN too. It's cleared up today but apparently more wet stuph is on the way.
