Microfiction Monday #43

Susan from 'Stony River' organises and hosts this weekly meme. Thank you Susan J She provides a picture and the challenge is to create a story in 140 characters or less – including punctuation! Click here to read more marvels of microfiction – and perhaps join in. It's fun!
Here is this week's picture and my offering.
They hadn't realised New York would have its name writ large like Hollywood. And surely the laser beams would disrupt air traffic?

  8. Perfect! looks like a fun way to get the juices flowing on a Monday.
p.s. Forgive my silliness, Dr. Erica is my daughter. I'm just having SO much fun putting an M.D. after her name.

  9. Maybe this is the future for us in terms of Big City Advertising -- a holographic image that hovers above the city...although if you're already in the air traffic pattern, you're probably not the one they need to convince to come visit?

  12. Very well done and good take off the Hollywood sign. Here's hoping that the laser beams won't disrupt an already over loaded air traffic system :) Well done my friend. Have a great Monday :)

  13. Planes will be falling from the sky right and left. NYC will have to choose between giant signs/laser beams and air traffic.

    Good one!

  14. It's NY. If you're going to do it, do it big, right?

  15. At least the beams mean that birds will be able to see where they're flying at night! Good story.

note from Mummy: dear Janice, thanks so much for asking. I am feeling much better now. but there are these moments of gloom which sets in sometimes and i jsut don't feel like doing anything. not even blogging and cooking which i so love to do.
guess it will take some time.

  19. Too bad New York doesn't have a nice mountain its sign on. The Hollywood sign is pretty. This NYC one reflects better.
