I've always been fascinated by seahorses and now the London Zoo's Aquarium has 918 short-snouted seahorse babies, looking like the ones below!

  1. That's a LOT of seahorses! The mamas and the papas must be very proud. :)

  3. Oh, they're gorgeous, Janice. Are you going to go see them? 918 babies! What a nursery that must be. I think there's something about the idea of baby seahorses that's even more fascinating than the idea of grown-up seahorses.

  5. I'm going to see Bethan on Monday and maybe we'll go to see them if they're on public view. I hope Susannah might come too as she's freelancing at the moment :-)

  7. When I was on holiday in Spain a number of years ago in La Manga, I swam in a kind of lagoon, and saw a seahorse. The water was really still and up nearly to my neck, and the seahorse was down near my feet bobbing past. It was rainbow coloured and looked quite big because of the effects of the water. It was a magical moment!

  8. I've always been fascinated by them, too. You have to wonder how such a marvelously strange creature evolved.
