Book Blurb Friday #6 Mirror, mirror

This meme is hosted by Lisa Ricard Claro at ‘Writing in the Buff’ J
Each week she posts a photo that could be the cover of a book. The aim is to:
‘Write a book jacket blurb (150 words or less) so enticing that potential readers would feel compelled to buy the book.’

Mirror, mirror

Sally has become secretive and edgy of late and reluctant to discuss her daily affairs with her husband. George fears the worst and hires private detective Jack Mahoney to follow her. Mahoney is hard-bitten and experienced but even he is taken aback by what he discovers.

Is George right to worry about his marriage or should he be more concerned with Sally’s mental and physical safety? Has Sally been coerced into her new occupation or has she always been involved in counter-sabotage?

This tightly woven story takes the reader from cosy domesticity to nail-biting suspense. You won’t be able to put this exciting page-turner down until you’ve discovered the answers to all George and Jack’s questions.

(116 words, excluding title)

  3. I love this! The seemingly normal soccer mom type is really into some serious stuff. I thought of the movie "True Lies" only in yours the wife is the super spy. Great blurb!

  4. This is great! I love the name Jack Mahoney. At first I thought that Sally was going to be turning tricks, but she is a spy. And teetering on the edge of sanity? Wow. You did great.

  13. You got me hooked with the fear for "Sally's mental health and physical safety." Jack Mahoney is the perfect name for a detective, too! What will he discover and tell George...not the whole truth, I'll bet! Good one!
