Succinctly Yours Week 6

Grandma's Goulash at Succinctly Yours hosts this microfiction meme. Each week she posts a photographic prompt for inspiration and the challenge is to write a story using no more than 140 characters or words.

Below is this week's photo followed by my offering.

‘Hey, man, you knocked my glasses off.’
‘Hey, dude, cool it. Your glasses are square. You should have, like, gone to Specsavers.’

(129 characters)

‘You should have gone to Specsavers’ has become a popular phrase in UK thanks to the television advertisements for the high street opticians Specsavers. I’ve included a couple of their advertisements. There was another that really made me laugh but it’s much too rude to post here!

Hi Jablog! Thanks for buying Bobby's (aka Arthur's) e-book. He has such wit and compassion in his stories. I'll let him know one of my blog friends bought his book!

Nice one, referring to Specsavers. Great ads. You've missed the crop circle one, though :-)

I'm not sure which I like more, your take or the silly commercials. Thanks, I needed the laugh!

The Specsavers ads are so funny, I love the one with Pat the Postman and the cat.

Really enjoyed the micro. Thanks for the explanation of Specsavers. The last clip was so funny that I made my daughter come watch it. Too good not to share.
