The plight of Ireland's feral cats

Barbara from Words, Words, Words has drawn attention to the plight of feral cats in Ireland. Trapping and neutering feral cats is the only way to reduce the numbers of unwanted kittens and stop the mindless cruelty they suffer.

Please read Barbara’s blog, visit the petition site and find out more.

  2. You are doing a good service for the cats by telling everyone about the petition. Since I live here in Canada I probably can't sign it, but I'll see.

  4. That's too sad. We have a lot of feral cats here in Hawaii too. They must survive on hand-outs or perhaps the mice?

  5. I really hope the petition succeeds and funds are granted for this program.

Trap/neuter/return works, it is the most humane way to control feral cat populations. I volunteer my time to this program in our community.

  6. I fully agree with you. We have in Brussels vet students who catch feral cats, neutre them and then set them free again. They go with a special van through the city where the ferals are. I think that's a very good idea.

  8. In a nation of 'pet lovers' such cruelty is sadly too commonplace. I hate the way people simply abandon animals and leave them to a dreadful fate. As you say, neutering is the only way out.
