Cruise Control

Cruise Control

Recently I learned that it can be dangerous to use cruise control in your car on slippery or wet roads. Snow, ice or rain can cause wheel-spin and loss of control. Although cruise control can be deactivated quickly by touching the brake pedal the extra time taken to effect this may result in your vehicle going out of control and possibly careering into a ditch or into the path of oncoming traffic.

Surely this information should be displayed in the car alongside warnings about air bags.

  1. If only I could figure out how to open the hood and operate other various features in my car. Seriously, yes this bit of information should be included as standard operating procedure.

  2. Three vehicles ago we had cruise control for the very first time....as I love gadgets I gave it a go. That was enough for me. I like being in cntrol of things myself. Cruise control on our vehicles gathers dust.

  5. Yes I knew that. I don't have cruise control, would never want it either. But I was very happy with my Hybrid car when I drove up to Normandy, I used so few petrol, it mostly went on electricity especially in the little villages !
