(This image reminded me of decorating - rather a banal memory to accompany such a pretty graphic!)
Decorating
Little tester pots of paint,
Very cute and rather quaint -
Dabs of paint adorn my wall.
In the kitchen, in the hall.
Can’t decide which one to choose -
Everyone has different views.
Mine looks good, yours is brighter,
Let’s try this one – it’s much lighter.
Decorating’s quite a chore,
Choosing colours? Such a bore!
Hang it all, this tiresome caper,
Let’s go out and buy wallpaper.
I *absolutely* love this, though I'd probably have chosen hues instead of views in 1st verse. ;O)
ReplyDeleteThis is brilliant. Once said, it's obvious that's what it is, but it took you to say it! Truly brilliant.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! ...I recognise that decorating dilemma. :-)
ReplyDeleteNicely done.
I'm so glad you've been painting the town red - never mine my outdated email! heheh! Tester pots are pretty exact for what I was doing... Thank you. :)
ReplyDeleteI like it as is... thanks for reminding me that I need to paint. Hmm... decisions, decisions.
ReplyDeleteVery entertaining take on the prompt. Must say though, I love looking for colours - but hate doing the painting!
ReplyDeleteBefore I ever did any, I thought I would love decorating. Oh how wrong I was! This poem sums that feeling up well!
ReplyDeleteThis is brilliant! Love it. Erm, but it has reminded me I must decorate soon.
ReplyDeleteAnna :o]
LOL
ReplyDeleteBut then you have to choose wallpaper. Have you any idea how many different colours and patterns there are to choose from ;-)
We're currently going through the process (well, it has been moved to the background a bit) of choosing flooring, colours, curtains, etc. for our bedroom.
So, your post is very topical. And I'd love to have Jinksy's painting on my wall. Happy colours.
I don't think you're bored by colors at all :) Look at the beauty on this page!
ReplyDeleteAll for GOD,
Connie
No don't, because while you are painting you can come up with lots more little gems like this one. Hanging wallpaper needs concentration whereas painting allows your mind to roam the fertile hills and valleys of your imagination.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this, absolutely delightful! Reminds me of my daughter-in-laws recent decorating trials.
ReplyDeleteI usually tape paint cards from Walmart all over the wall. I love the painting.
ReplyDeleteI particularly liked the punch-line. Such conclusions are very satsfying. The colours in your art work are satisfying too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely, vibrant painting :)
ReplyDeleteAnd why not just choose a paper with this painting as a pattern??!! Easy decision!Huh?
What a wonderful poem! And I love the artwork - fantastic colours. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteTotally amazing! You are such an incredible poet! I love it!
