Very odd
Recently, I have received notice of comments in my email but on opening my blog to respond I find the comments have not appeared. It seems to be an Antipodean quirk, with comments from River and Andrew being the victims.
It's also inconsistent. Sometimes their comments appear, other times they don't.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Your blog hates Australians and our comments end up in your blog comment spam folder. I have to check the comment spam folder on my blog daily for comments that don't get published, often enough River's.
ReplyDeleteMy blog may hate Australians, but I don't ;-)
ReplyDeleteYes. Check the comments spam thing, as Andrew suggests. I now check mine every day. It catches a fair bit of spam but also, now and again, an authentic comment. It's easy to OK the OK ones for publishing. xx
ReplyDeleteI used to see comments that had not been published and could decide whether or not to accept them. No longer. I expect it will change again . . . sigh!
DeleteHi Janice - blogger rejects my comments occasionally on my blog? Strange but true ... I check comments regularly ... and always delete those I don't want.
ReplyDeleteWho knows how cold my toes are .. please hum to Gilbert! Who knows what ... we adapt - more than the mechanics do - Cheers
I don't think I've got comments spam, just comments, which I check and manage.. The missing blog comments are not there.
ReplyDeleteAh, it is a big mess over here, too. My readers tell me they can not reply on my blog sometimes. have agreat weekend.
ReplyDeleteI know some respondents have to accept 'Anonymous' because they can't get in under their chosen names. It's daft!
Deleteoooops! did we publish when we hadn't finished? Don't post this if we had already sent one. Blogger has gone mad. One of our Kiwi regulars always ends up in SPAM and there doesn't seem to be any way of marking her as 'safe' so we always have to check. Spam filter even chases our own replies at times. xxx Mr T
ReplyDeleteBlogger just enjoys playing games!
ReplyDeleteIn one of your replies above you said you didn't have a spam folder but you do, it's just not set to show up. On the left of your dashboard page, click on Comments. Above the list of comments there should be the word All (or maybe maybe Awaiting Moderation, or Published) with an inverted triangle to the right of it. Click on the triangle and it will give you the list of options: All, Awaiting Moderation, Published, and Spam. If you have this set to Published, new comments will not show up. I keep mine set at All so I can see Everything Everywhere All at Once (nod to the movie title there :))
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you Jenny. That's really helpful and so clearly explained x
ReplyDeleteWhat I didn't tell you was how long I did not know it! lol
DeleteHa ha!
DeleteI don't get email notifications anyway, I didn't sign up for that, but I've heard about it and have noticed a few blogs where my comments seem to vanish.
ReplyDeleteI check my spam folder every day when I first turn on.
ReplyDeleteI shall add that exercise to my to-do list! Very wise.
ReplyDeleteI have comments turning up from people a couple of days late sometimes, also some turn up in my spam folder. I check every day now. A few days ago one of my comments took a month to appear. It is all quite odd!
ReplyDeleteIt makes it seem that we have not bothered to acknowledge people's comments and that just looks rude!
DeleteBlogger is a mess for the moment ! I get always the same people in the SPAM although I have told them that they are not SPAM, then I don't get the comments which I have approved, not always but often I have to double check. I got 4 times the same comment from the same person. If I can't comment on a blog, I click on "Atom" which is at the very end and then it works. I don't know if they are working from a Pub with strong beer or from a madhouse. Or they should check on their programmers !
ReplyDeleteBlogger isn't the best platform . . .
DeleteIt seems "technical problems" of blog..... blog admin should fix it...
ReplyDeleteYou're probably right.
