The cat on the hat

The cat on the hat

The cat sits on his master’s hat,

And slowly gazes round;

This place is better than a mat

And high above the hound.

His claws are sheathed in velvet paws,

With eyes half-closed, he naps;

Twitching his tail, he gently snores,

Dreaming of mice, perhaps.

Alas! Alack! His brother’s back,

Time to vacate the cap,

Anything to avoid the whack

Of a less than friendly tap.

  2. This is so sweet! My cat likes to lie on things I've worn too, I think it reassures her I am still around and coming back again whenever I am out.

  3. Do the cats like sitting on the hat? Or did you place them there to take the photos?

    1. Cats choose where they go - they will not be placed. If you try, they simply get up and walk away. They're not nearly as accommodating as dogs and much harder to train.

  4. I used to slerp on F's jumper if she divested it while gardening. I never had a bro with a look like that to disturb my dreaming. Does he practice that look? Xxx Mr T

  8. And he barely fits! So typical of a cat :)

    One of my cats hurries to lie on any item placed on the floor - clothing, towels, linens for the laundry, purse, shopping, boxes etc. I don't know why, maybe to claim it as hers. It's predictable and entertaining, though.

    1. Cats have to possess everything that takes their fancy. The funniest is when they squeeze into boxes that are far too small for them. As you say, predictable and entertaining! x
