New shoes

 New shoes again

Can you tell which is the old and which the new? 😉

My trainers were so grubby that I had forgotten they were blue.

The washing machine did its best, but some of the dirt is ingrained. I wear them most of the time and thought it would be sensible to have a second pair.

The new blue shoes arrived yesterday.

I fancied a 'pretty' pair, but really, what would be the point?

  1. There would be no point at all!

  2. Is that the old shoe in the last picture with the treads not at all worn down? I wear my trainers all the time because nothing else fits me and the treads are worn to almost nothing after a year and a bit.

    1. Janice is obviously light on her feet.

    2. I don't wear them on hard surfaces so they don't get the same sort of wear. I'd like to think myself light on my feet . . . but I'm not!

  3. You will probably never wear the old ones now, but it does mean you have spare laces.

    1. Still wearing the old ones until the new ones are properly worn in.

PS Nobby says the same of grubby paws.

  6. My feet are so accustomed to comfortable these days that I resent having to dress up for weddings and the like. Those look like mighty fine shoes - both pairs.

  7. I will say I am jealous that you got blue shoes. My favorite color in the whole world. In the summer mine are a light gray with mesh, and in the winter they are white leather. Got to have good support when we're walking don't we.

    1. Definitely! It's far too easy to turn an ankle without good support.

  9. Good for you getting a new pair. I find that I usually put off getting another pair because I can't find one's that feel good and I'm too lazy to shop, thus my sneakers last me until they are falling apart. I guess I should buy two pairs at a time and alternate wearing them.

    1. That would be a good solution, but somehow I never manage to do that.

    Need I say more 🤣
Where would we be without our comfy, machine washable trainers?

  11. I don't like slippers, so trainers work for me.

  12. It's good to wear them out, means you're using them! That new pair looks fresh and ready to go.

  13. I hardly wear trainers because I'm finding it hard to find a pair I like and which doesn't have white soles, which I absolutely abhor. Yours look pretty decent though! xxx

  15. We call them sneakers here in the States and I wear mine almost non stop. They do get grungy way before the soles wear down, which is too bad.

  19. I must admit to wearing trainers a lot of the time, either that or my hiking boots. I just bought a new pair of books, same style, same brand as the other just a different colour (as they were cheaper at the time of purchase). I find that since I had surgery on my ankle a few years back there are only certainly things I can wear.

    1. It's so important to have comfortable footwear. I can't wear high heels any more - got out of practice and don't need to try and look 'smart'!

  20. I wear trainers most days. They are so comfortable especially once I have worn them in a while. I use the old ones in the garden when pootling about. It takes a while for me to completely get rid of them though. Maybe I should have the next pair ready and waiting to take over.
