Real photos have almost always got that certain extra that AI would remove, a bit like the thud of the needle when it hits a record playing on a deck, CD's removed the imperfections, but it not the same.
Hi Janice - how long before we'll never know ... but I prefer the real thing for each and everything - cheers and those gateways of my mind will always be open ... cheers Hilary
I played with AI for a few months, fun but I am with you, prefer the real things. I use it once in a while, like when I wanted a giant wolf standing on a roof top with a whip. not gonna find that photo. ha ha.. I go through phases of playing with new things and move on to the next.
I don't think I will spend a lot of time playing with it, but, as you say, for something that can't be accessed easily, unless you can draw superbly - or even at all - it's useful.
While it may be fun to play with, it's important to keep in mind that AI programs may gather images from artists without their permission and allow people to use those images which is a copyright violation.
When I was young, I had a Dalmatian dog. He had very well developed sense of humor and was always up to something. Never a boring moment with him around. His name was Troll.
Troll sounds a perfect name for a Dalmatian. They are such beautiful, elegant dogs. I'd love to have another (we had four over the years) but they need much more exercise than we could probably give them now. My husband used to run with them every day and I then walked with them for a couple of hours daily. Wonderful times!
Great results for a first try but I also prefer your real images.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteIt is rather fun to play with, but I prefer real photos too
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to see if I could do it and I'm always rather surprised when things like that work for me.
DeleteAs you now know, I have used AI to replace backgrounds a little bit, ro to add or take away things, but I haven't generated full AI pictures.
ReplyDeleteIt's useful to be able to doctor photographs to remove unwanted bits . . . or people.
DeleteReal photos are always best.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
DeleteStunning ... but Yes I prefer the real images too. xx
ReplyDeleteSo do I.
DeleteThe AI images don't shed, bark at nothing, or require expensive trips to the vet.
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, or pedantic, neither do photographs, but I take your point. Despite the mess and the noise, I'd rather have the real animals.
DeleteYour photos are terrific. The AI are too composed.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the real thing, I must say.
DeleteI use AI when I am too lazy, or incompetent to take real photos 🙂
ReplyDeleteI love your AI images - they're fun.
DeleteAI seems to adore backlit autumnal glow. Your photo are better and have personality (or caninality).
ReplyDeleteThat is, or was, a real dog, my Velcro dog, Frodo. He was quite a character.
DeleteReal photos have almost always got that certain extra that AI would remove, a bit like the thud of the needle when it hits a record playing on a deck, CD's removed the imperfections, but it not the same.
ReplyDeleteIn the same way, recordings are not the same as being at a live performance.

ReplyDeleteYes, how long will it be before we *cannot tell* the difference between artifice and reality? Glad to hear the gateways are remaining open.
DeleteNo doubt in my mind that the real photos show off the true dog. Artwork is kind of fun I haven't figured out how to use it though.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you.. AI is fun and a good way to waste an hour or two. 🤣😂
DeleteWow! Those photos are impressive. I have to try it. thanks,
ReplyDeleteIt's fun.
DeleteAI is a tool for us to express ourselves
ReplyDeleteYes, and can be used to good effect in many spheres of life.
DeleteOh such pretty dogs and yes, real is always better :) I am having a lot of fun with AI. You created beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteI always like yours, Denise - you're very creative.

DeleteI think both versions are gorgeous x
ReplyDeleteAlison in Wales x
Thank you, Alison.
DeleteThe AI is interesting but too perfect, I like real pictures better.
ReplyDeleteSo do I. There are real memories attached to photographs.
DeleteThey are all excellent pictures.
ReplyDeleteMy husband is the photographer. My photographs are a bit hit and miss, at the best of times.
DeleteI, too, prefer the real pictures. You got a couple of nice action shots. The AI pictures look artificial.
ReplyDeleteThose are my husband's photographs. I'm more of a point and shoot photographer . . . and my aim isn't always very good. 😉
DeleteI'll always prefer the slight imperfections of the real thing! xxx
ReplyDeleteNothing is life is absolutely perfect, thankfully.
DeleteThose came out great.
ReplyDeleteI rather like them - they're fun, but not the real thing.
DeleteReal photographs are always best.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Real photographs have meaning and context.
DeleteWhile it may be fun to play with, it's important to keep in mind that AI programs may gather images from artists without their permission and allow people to use those images which is a copyright violation.
ReplyDeleteIt's always best to use your own images and text.
DeleteCopyright violation is a serious business and can affect people's businesses and livelihoods.
