AI graphics

AI graphics

I was playing around with AI, courtesy of a link from Yorkshire Pudding, and was quite impressed with the results.

I prefer the real photographs, though.

    1. I just wanted to see if I could do it and I'm always rather surprised when things like that work for me.

  3. As you now know, I have used AI to replace backgrounds a little bit, ro to add or take away things, but I haven't generated full AI pictures.

    1. It's useful to be able to doctor photographs to remove unwanted bits . . . or people.

  6. The AI images don't shed, bark at nothing, or require expensive trips to the vet.

    1. To be fair, or pedantic, neither do photographs, but I take your point. Despite the mess and the noise, I'd rather have the real animals.

  7. Your photos are terrific. The AI are too composed.

  8. I use AI when I am too lazy, or incompetent to take real photos 🙂

  9. AI seems to adore backlit autumnal glow. Your photo are better and have personality (or caninality).

    1. That is, or was, a real dog, my Velcro dog, Frodo. He was quite a character.

  10. Real photos have almost always got that certain extra that AI would remove, a bit like the thud of the needle when it hits a record playing on a deck, CD's removed the imperfections, but it not the same.

    1. In the same way, recordings are not the same as being at a live performance.

    1. Yes, how long will it be before we *cannot tell* the difference between artifice and reality? Glad to hear the gateways are remaining open.

  12. No doubt in my mind that the real photos show off the true dog. Artwork is kind of fun I haven't figured out how to use it though.

  16. I played with AI for a few months, fun but I am with you, prefer the real things. I use it once in a while, like when I wanted a giant wolf standing on a roof top with a whip. not gonna find that photo. ha ha.. I go through phases of playing with new things and move on to the next.

    1. I don't think I will spend a lot of time playing with it, but, as you say, for something that can't be accessed easily, unless you can draw superbly - or even at all - it's useful.

  24. While it may be fun to play with, it's important to keep in mind that AI programs may gather images from artists without their permission and allow people to use those images which is a copyright violation.

    1. It's always best to use your own images and text.

    2. Copyright violation is a serious business and can affect people's businesses and livelihoods.

  25. When I was young, I had a Dalmatian dog. He had very well developed sense of humor and was always up to something. Never a boring moment with him around. His name was Troll.

    1. Troll sounds a perfect name for a Dalmatian. They are such beautiful, elegant dogs. I'd love to have another (we had four over the years) but they need much more exercise than we could probably give them now. My husband used to run with them every day and I then walked with them for a couple of hours daily. Wonderful times!
