Cannot access

Cannot access . . .

‘Always smiling’ is a blog that I have been following for some time but which is now unavailable to me.

Chris's post today was entitled, ‘What did I say?’ and stated that she has lost some bloggers who always used to comment.

I can read the ‘headlines’ but when I click to read the whole post I get the following message:

‘This site can’t be reached’

Scans reveal nothing.

I’ve reported it as inaccurate blocking - there is nothing harmful in Chris’ blog. I know she sometimes gets upset by things beyond her control and I’m sorry this has happened, but cannot contact her to explain. Is anyone else experiencing the same?

Blogger is unhelpful . . .

  1. I can't get her blog either - it's being blocked by my Norton virus protection. I asked at the computer shop when I renewed my virus protection last week but they said it could mean that Chris' blog had a virus. I've scanned but it still won't let me read. Very odd

    1. It's Norton that's stopping me, too. Annoying.

  2. I left a comment for her on your behalf so at least she's aware you're trying. Maybe there's a blog settings problem, but it's weird that I can comment and you can't.

  3. I had the same issue, daughter checked and found my virgin router was blocking her, now when I see a post I disable my home connection on my phone and can read her post. Daughter could not see why this was happening, it started about the time Chris hot her new laptop.

  4. I read her post and made a comment. I don't know if the comment made it yet as she monitors them but I do hope the disconnect for you clears up.

  5. I went there, commented and decided to follow while I was at it.

  6. Sometimes that happens. I hope it gets cleared up.

  7. I've not been following that blog but I looked it up now and had no problem reading or commenting. So I'm thinking like some others above that it must have to do with security settings somewhere. Have you tried using a different browser to see if you get the same result? (I'm no technical genius, but that has sometimes worked for me with other issues...)

    1. I think others have tried that without success.

    2. Janice, I checked a bit further today, and I find that both Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome block her blog for me (referring to Norton - which I find odd, as I'm not subscribing to Norton and don't have it installed). On Firefox, however, no problem. They seem to regard the page as secure.

    1. It's strange that it suddenly happened - or so it seemed.

  9. Could well be your security, also sometimes the VPN which can block. I unlocked my VPN recently, part of the McAfee security.

  10. Strange, I had that also with a blog there is nothing to do if you don't have her email ! I found a nice text about our generation, couldn't resist to publish it.

  11. I thought it was just me. I too am unable to get her blog.

  12. I have had the same issue for some time. When I click on the blog I get a message saying that the site can’t be accessed as my browser can’t access a secure connection to the server.

  14. Hello ... I have just visited Chris's blog with no problems.
I told her I would report back to you and let you know that I have been able to visit. Hopefully the comment I left will go through okay once she has moderated it.
Blogger does have glitches from time to time so hopefully things will be sorted.

    All the best Jan

    1. Thank you, Chris. I'm glad you got the (several!!) messages. Maybe the gremlins will go elsewhere . . .

  17. I don't follow this blog, but I tried. I got an error message from Malwarebytes the malware protection program I use. It says the website is blocked due to riskware

  18. Yeah, my blog often gets blocked over the years. I stay off commenting on politics

  21. That's incredibly frustrating when you can't access a blog you follow. It's tough not being able to read Chris's full posts, and even more so not being able to tell her you're having trouble reaching her site.
Recently i could not follow blogs; I'm not sure why that is happening but I have to read about it.

  22. I gave up on Norton years ago. I don't often have trouble getting to anyone on my list and if I decide not to comment anymore on someone else's blog I leave a comment stating that so they know.

  23. I just tried to get to Chris via her comment here and my "Malware" suggested it might be risky so I won't try again.

  24. I’d say, try accessing on a different device, but I see that others have tired and failed, so I guess that’s not the problem or solution.

  25. I hope it’s just a temporary glitchfingers crossed she’s okay and her blog is back soon.

  26. Late to this, isn't it strange, Chris's blog is one I find easy to access and often use it as a portal to other blogs because for some weird reason I'm more likely to be able to publish comments when I do!
