Unexciting
Nothing of note to tell you, so I thought I’d share a recent photograph. Gilbert and Herschel often go to bed before the rest of us. They’re effective bed warmers.
It’s rained quite a lot today, which is good. It’s colder, which is not so good, but a bright fire is dispelling the gloom. We’ve drawn the curtains, too, so it feels quite cosy.
I spent Monday afternoon at the dentist. It wasn’t the whole afternoon, of course, it just felt like it. A thirty-minute appointment stretched to ninety. C’est la vie!
Well, aren't they the sweetest? At least the dentist appointment is over (until the next time).
ReplyDeleteI hope so! 🤣😂
DeleteThat pic is all that you need.
ReplyDeleteThat picture almost encapsulates my life. Certainly a lot of it is taken up with the animals.
DeleteGilbert & Herschel are just adorable Janice.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Julie. We agree.
DeleteSecond day of heavy rain here in Greece. Let the greening begin.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo of 2 friends
It must be a relief to see the rain after a long, hot summer.
DeleteAren't they sweet!
ReplyDeleteThey are very sweet together.
DeleteWhat cute critters! Love the little ridge on the pup's nose. Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteThat's his zip!
DeleteI like your portable bed warmers.
ReplyDeleteThey have their uses.
DeleteI love your header picture, can you explain it to us.
ReplyDeleteI will. Watch this space - or that one.
DeleteWhat a super cute photo
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteGilbert and Herschel seem very patient with each other. Does one or other never lose his patience?
ReplyDeleteNot really., Occasionally, Gilbert gets up and wanders off. Roxy is less tolerant and sometimes grumps at them
DeleteOne thing I have noticed since the internet came into my life is that cats and dogs get on perfectly well together, they are not the furies they are made out to be. Mind you it is probably down to the cats, who can manipulate the lesser dogs with ease.
ReplyDeleteCats are in the ascendant, definitely. When they were tiny kittens, they were terrified of the dogs - we had Dalmatians, then - but they soon realised they were no threat at all and were very warm to cuddle up with.
DeleteI like the big picture of snow in the middle of this unexciting blogpost.
ReplyDeleteSome of the boring snow has melted now . . .
DeleteThey do look comfy cuddled up together.
ReplyDelete😊
DeleteI am also (singing) walking in the rain and it's rather cool ! The picture is so cute, and in the past they said they are like cat and dog ! Even old Rosie says nothing when dog Leia comes here. They stare at each other for the moment, but stay put in their corners!
ReplyDeleteThere are many companionships across species - cats and horses, dogs and pigs, cats and ducks and so on.
DeleteHi Janice - sometimes those are the best ... peace reigns. Yes - we had lots of rain yesterday ... so far today it's ok! Cheers - love the pic of Gilbert and Herschel - happiness together. Teeth - at least they did it one sitting (as such!) ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteI wish it had been one session. This was the third and last. Never mind, worse things happen at sea. 🤣😂
DeleteIt is very restful to see cats and dogs together like that.
ReplyDeleteMoving them so that we can get into bed is another matter altogether.
DeleteThose two adorable faces have made my day!
ReplyDeleteThat's good. 😊
DeleteOh no! I detest dentists!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely that they cuddle up together.
It was the third and last session and just for one tooth!
DeleteIt's a great photo, I so miss letting dogs in the bedrooms but I'm mildly allergic to Jas's hair. BTW we took our Jas to the vet today, the itchy scratchies were becoming worse. So she's had cytopoint and we're going for a trial of hypoallergenic food........ bless her, she's a little improved already.
ReplyDeleteAlison in Devon x
Oh, poor Jas. There is a site you may find helpful - 'allaboutdogfood'
DeleteMy middle daughter's cat gets very itchy from time to time, and scratches himself raw, so he then has to wear a 'onesie' which he hates, but that, and a steroid injection, allow him to heal a little.
Lola used to scratch herself raw and the vet said "flea allergy dermatitis" and recommended flea treatment once a month or so even though she doesn't have fleas, but might have been bitten before I got her and developed the allergy. Now when she scratches badly enough to be raw, I dab the patches gently with antiseptic diluted with water and it stops the itching so she stops scratching. Much cheaper than the steroid shots. And she gets a flea treatment every 8-10 weeks.
DeleteGilbert and Herschel are so sweet. Sorry about your dentist appointment, but hopefully, you won't have to go back for another 6 months.
ReplyDeleteI hope so, too! 😕🙁😟
DeleteUnexciting can be just what we need.
ReplyDeleteQuite so. A peaceful life is a good one.
DeleteLove that picture!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteWhat a sweet picture!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteThey're the sweetest bed warmers ever! xxx
ReplyDeleteThey certainly are, especially when it's nippy outside.
DeleteSuch good friends. And seeing sleeping animals is a sleep aid
ReplyDelete. . . not so much when they snore. Herschel has a very loud snore and so does Roxy . . .
DeleteAwwww, Gilbert and Herschel! Love the photo. I wish we had a fireplace. That's one thing we lack in this flat.
ReplyDeleteThere are some very good free-standing artificial 'stoves' which are quite small, very realistic and give out heat.
DeleteI could use a good bed warmer for the winter. We’ve had a mild fall so far, but winter is coming.. I see the dentist on Thursday and I hope it doesn’t become a 90 minute appointment. It’s not a routine visit
ReplyDeleteGood luck with that, Alison. 😊
Deleteso cute!
ReplyDelete😊
DeleteThey are so comfy together. And you are still dealing with the crown I see, and not the British Crown, lol.
ReplyDeleteHow adorable they look!!! The dreaded dentist!!!
ReplyDeleteAww sweet photograph of Gilbert and Herschel.
ReplyDeleteHopefully that will be your last dental appointment for a while ...
I have a routine (hopefully) dental appointment next month!!!
All the best Jan
Best friends forever.... sweet picture of them. Nice that they go to bed early and warm up the bed for you, how thoughtful.
ReplyDeleteThey are adorable!
ReplyDeleteLola warms the bed, but only the one patch where she is lying, so I put a hot water bottle in there to warm the bed for me.
