Snow, icicles and catkins on Corylus avellana contorta
Blue shadows in the snow. We are now in the middle of a thaw and everything is slushy and grubby - and flooding!

Oh, what a great shadow shot for the day! Different and really lovely! And it does look cold! Hope you'll finish thawing out soon! Have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteSylvia
that's a lovely shot, I like the twisting patterns of the twigs
ReplyDeleteIcy blue shadows seem cold as the snow sits upon the vegetation. Yet, the blue light is elegant, due to the cold yet still 'cool' to look at. Delicate lighting of winter..
ReplyDeleteSnow affords us wonderful opportunities, doesn't it? Very nice shot.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a tangle of lights first!
ReplyDeleteCrazy weather alkl over! We have plus weather and it will be warmer tomorrow! The snow is melting!
Great shadow shot!
Wonderful shot! I love all the twisted tree roots (?) amongst the ice. It reminds me of my fridge when it's defrosting!
ReplyDeleteCool photo from the thaw. I can almost hear the dripping...
ReplyDeleteHi Janice, I like your icy tree.I bet it looks great when the catkins mature. We've had a thaw here too and now we have mud and the fields are full of water.
ReplyDeleteTruly the winter blues...ours are doing a slow melt, that's good for the frozen waterways...so far!
ReplyDeleteCapturing the thawing out process is a first! Makes for an interesting variation on the snow front. Can really feel the edge between water and ice.
ReplyDeleteOooh, slushy and grubby? But it looks so pretty here in your photo! Sorry that my waffle confused you. I'm sure you were not the only one. I'm not so great at explaining things. Just keep on doing what you are doing as it's all good! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of snowy shadows!

ReplyDeleteIsn't nature marvellous? Now if you stuck me out there in the middle of a snowy winter, I doubt I would bloom again in Spring!
