Announcement

 Announcement

I hesitated to post this before the parents had taken to social media, but now that they have I can introduce my youngest great-granddaughter, Melia (pronounce Meh-lee-ah) Shay. She was born on Saturday 25th February, three weeks early, thus catching out her usually super-organised parents.

In Hawaiian culture Melia means plumeria or frangipani.

In Greek mythology the Meliae are ash tree nymphs.

For now, Melia, just one week old, is keeping her besotted, exhausted parents busy.

  10. I hope the young parents don't become helicopter parents ! From Toby as baby I only have seen photos or on the video screen, twice I was allowed to give him his bottle under the eagle eyes of my son, who feared that I would drop him or kill him, it's a miracle that he survived such a mother ! Congratulations btw, great grandma what a title ! She looks very cute !

  13. When you haven't had a new child or grandchild in the house for a long time, a baby seems wondrous. My grandchildren are tall, lanky, noisy and always busy, whereas Melia is blissful.
