Cushion

 

Cushion

Herschel, very relaxed.

It is bliss to cushion one’s weary head and feel the troubles of the day drift away, even as the bitter gale whines round the house, its chilling fingers probing cracks and crannies. It moans and whimpers, screams and sobs, and the cushioned head dreams on, oblivious, safe and warm – and attached to a body, in case you’re thinking it’s disembodied.

This flight of fancy was inspired by Roxy and Herschel, peacefully slumbering while Gilbert attended to other matters in the conservatory – just a little pruning here and there . . . mostly there. Jellicoe was on my lap, 'helping'.

    I was going to say, before my human pressed the wrong button that we don't have conservatory. Perhaps i should campaign for one. Xxx Mr T

    Ahhh the wrong button killed the start of what I was saying too...sounds like the Purrfect use of an imperfect day. Gales round our house meant i got to supervise sewing, no pruning because we don't have a conservatory.

    Where do you sit when you're supervising sewing? Jellicoe favours my lap, which is okay if I want my work to be fur-lined! x x

    Herschel, I fear there are dangers in being such a convincing looking cushion. Do make sure no-one sits on you.

    I find it so cozy and anti-stressing to have all the pets around, squatting the chairs, beds, laps etc. Even only one helps, only she sleeps at least 23 h !

    I so enjoy these photos and your excellent writing. I also get so far behind looking and reading. A sleeping pet is actually a comfort to just sit and watch for a bit.
