This postbox topper celebrates 200 years of the existence of the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution)

  3. I didn't even know what the RNLI was. "The Royal National Lifeboat Institution is the lifeboat service operating around the coasts of the U.K, Republic of Ireland, Channel Islands and Isle of Man, plus some inland waterways". A really important function they fulfil, well worth celebrating.

  5. I have only heard of post box toppers. We don't have this tradition here. It's a very nice thing.
    Post boxes have in fact now vanished. Here, we find them only in post offices. Are they still there in the UK?

    1. Yes, we have post boxes all over the place. The collections aren't quite as frequent as they were, though.

  6. I have seen quite a few last year in Eastbourne, they looked so funny ! Some were really artwork !
