Togetherness
Gilbert: I didn't ask Jellicoe to join me. He just appeared.
Then he started washing my ears. I don't mind him washing the outside . . .
. . . but it tickles when he pushed his nose right into the flap and I'm a bit worried about his teeth. Sometimes, he's a little too enthusiastic.
We're pals, really, though. That's why I put my paw around him. Herschel joins us sometimes, but today he wanted to give himself a pedicure.
Oh my, I just melted into a puddle of goo- these are the ultimate in sweetness! I will curl my brain around these two when I need comfort, warmth and love.
ReplyDelete. . . and people still say dogs and cats are natural enemies!
DeleteWhat adorable pictures. Made my day.
ReplyDeleteAnimals make the world a better place.
DeleteThe dog looks very protective of his smaller, softer pal.
ReplyDeleteHe could do such damage if he chose to, but he's so soft.
DeleteHow absolutely special & adorable Janice. I just love your photos. xx
ReplyDeleteThank you, Julie.
DeleteSo heartwarming. Gilbert always makes me smile. Herschel and Jellicoe have such beautiful markings.
ReplyDeleteGilbert is actually quite a comedian and knows just how to appeal.
DeleteGilbert must truly be fond of Jellicoe. Who could possibly enjoy feeling a cat's tongue rasping against one's inner ear!
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't take long before a rasping tongue makes my skin quite sore, so I can understand Gilbert's trepidation.
DeleteSweet photos that remind me of our Ace (german shepherd) and Ginger (cat) snuggled together with the galah (pink and grey cockatoo) sitting on Ace's shoulders and all of them sleeping in the sun.
ReplyDeleteI would love to have seen that - what a wonderful sight.
DeleteGilbert's expression says it all.
ReplyDelete. . . if only they could talk!
DeleteHey free bath is good any day of the week. Especially when it's from a good friend.
ReplyDeleteCats reach the parts that dogs can't!
DeleteSuch lovely photos x
ReplyDeleteAlison in Wales x
Thank you, Alison. 😽
DeleteI love seeing cats and dogs together like this. Other animals too.
ReplyDeleteIt's quite amazing to see the alliances that build up between quite different animals.
DeleteNone of our pets ever laid together, your looks so sweet.
ReplyDeleteOurs always have, though I don't know why. The cats are the masters and the dogs are big and warm.
ReplyDeleteGreat pals. My son's dog and cat are like that.
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely to see, though they take up quite a lot of room when they get together on our bed.
DeleteHow absolutely adorable those two are! xxx
ReplyDeleteIndeed they are! 😺🐶
DeleteWhat a cute photo essay!
ReplyDeleteWe have different iterations of dogs and cats going back 40 years and more. It's not something we've trained them to do - it just happens.
DeleteAww a lovely post and the photographs were all wonderful.
ReplyDeleteGood pals indeed!
All the best Jan
It is so nice to see them sleeping together. Mutual comfort.
DeleteSo very sweet. Great pals and your great pals too.
ReplyDeleteThey are. We are very lucky.
DeleteAdorable pictures ! I love to see cats and dogs together, I don't know who has declared that cats and dogs hate each other ! I think that's the human's fault !
ReplyDeleteI think it's people who don't like dogs or don't like cats who say such silly things!
