A visitor
Arthur is
visiting us for a few days while his mistress is otherwise occupied. She cannot
leave him alone overnight. Roxy and Gilbert were delighted to see their little
friend again. Herschel and Jellicoe attained the heights and looked down until they
remembered that Arthur is no threat to them whatsoever, and anyway, they’re
cats, and lords of the manor. On going
into the bathroom, Susannah was startled to find syringes laid out neatly on
the counter top. This was not a sight with which she was familiar in her family
home.
However,
she quickly realised that they are ink jet syringes, used for refilling printer
cartridges. What a relief!
Delightful! Hope Arthur has fun
ReplyDeleteArthur is a lovely house guest!
DeleteWe could do with a refilling station here - printer out from UK to discover that model never sold here and cartridges unavailable.
ReplyDeleteJust as we think everything is universal, we're brought up short. What a nuisance for you.
DeleteHow much ink do you go through? Our new, little printer has mega tanks. They are really all that mega, but they are much bigger than what I am used to.
ReplyDeleteNot really all that much, but the tanks are quite big to begin with.
DeleteWhat a comic little household vignette—panic averted, order restored, and Arthur’s visit carrying on under the amused gaze of the resident feline nobility
ReplyDeleteYes, the cats rule the household!
ReplyDeleteThinking those might be medicinal syringes she probably had a small heart attack of her own. It'll be a lovely for the three dogs to have a chance to romp together won't it.
ReplyDeleteThe dogs do enjoy each other's company - it's lovely to see.
DeleteHa! I thought perhaps Arthur required some special medication?!
ReplyDeleteThankfully not!
DeleteHa Ha - thank goodness they weren't ready for anyting else. Yes cats rule the house ... but the dogs have a mighty good life ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteThe dogs certainly can't complain. 😊
DeleteI thought you were going to say that Arthur requires a lot of medication, haha. I hope your house guest has fun while he's staying.
ReplyDeleteHe'll have lots of fun.
DeleteOhhh...even I was a bit worried there myself. Enjoy Arthur.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you explained about those medical looking items. Just wondering if Arthur is some tropical animal needing special feeding or something.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering what all those syringes were for. Good to know it's just for ink filling. Enjoy your visit with Arthur.
ReplyDeleteWell, I too first thought that Arthur perhaps required some special medication ... but then I read on!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your visitor.
All the best Jan
A relief!
ReplyDeleteI was worried about the size of those needles. funny.. I used to buy refilled ones but never did it myself
ReplyDeleteNever tried refilling ink tanks. Our ink consumption has dropped markedly since I retired from teaching. Have a great time with Arthur
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of syringes! I would have been startled to find these in the bathroom as well.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping Arthur has a lovely time at yours! xxx
Well that must have been a relief to Susannah 🤣🤣
ReplyDeleteI hope Arthur has a great time with you all.
I assumed you had a visitor with diabetes and those syringes were drying after a good cleaning. I have had ink syringes myself, so I should have recognised those, but it has been years since I tried refilling cartridges and made a mess and then they didn't work properly anyway.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your visitor!
ReplyDeleteI would be surprised by syringes, too!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
