Doing the wrong thing

Doing the wrong thing

Doing the wrong thing for the right reason is as bad as doing the right thing for the wrong reason. Either way, we upset people without intending to, so it’s probably better to do nothing at all, unless we’re absolutely sure we’ve got everyone’s best interests at heart.

This, too, shall pass.

  1. Intentions are also important, I think.

  2. I've made mistakes like this in the past and now, if I am not sure, I will ask before doing or not doing anything for someone.

    1. Sigh - that comment was mine. Apparently I wasn't signed in and my comments are anonymous (I made another one too!)

  4. I used to feel just sick inside when there was an issue with someone. I tried very hard to set things right, which usually just made things worse. I am now at the point that I simply wait for signs that the other person is receptive to listening. Until then, I keep my thoughts to myself.

  5. "Doing the wrong thing" will almost always turn out wrong in the long run.

  7. Sometimes waiting is best, sometimes I say nothing and think it over for perhaps later saying something. The Bible says watch what you say, thoughtless speaking can be damaging. So true.
