from elsewhere:
Socialism: You have two cows. Give one cow to your neighbour.
Communism: You have two cows. Give both cows to the government
and they may give you some milk.
Fascism: You have two cows. The government shoots you and
takes both cows.
Anarchism: You have two cows. Keep both cows, shoot the
government and steal another cow.
Capitalism: You have two cows. Sell one. Buy a bull.
In this simple example, capitalism seems best, but perhaps raw capitalism could be softened by regularly giving your neighbour a bucket of milk.
ReplyDeleteA balanced combination of capitalism and socialism is perhaps what is ideal for any society. But how well that balance can be achieved is a challenge.
ReplyDeleteCapitalism might be more like, buy all of the bulls (0r cows), so no one else can have one and thus corner the market.
