Groceries
The groceries arrived this morning in good time, with no substitutions.
However, as the bags were handed to me, I noticed milk swirling around in a couple of them. I commented on it to the delivery driver and he explained that milk had leaked from someone else’s order.
Before putting the items away, I had to wipe away the milk. In a couple of cases, it had found its way inside containers so that the fruit or vegetables in them had to be washed immediately. That was not a big problem, or even a little one, but it was annoying.
Milk is not a contaminant, so I’m not concerned about ill effects.
All in
all, I’ll write it off to experience. Accidents happen.
You are tolerant indeed!
ReplyDeleteAt least you found it before it did just dry and smell on the fruit and veggies. Wonder what the consumer who purchased the milk thought of getting an open container?
ReplyDeleteOoh, that would have annoyed me, you are very patient.

Very annoying.
ReplyDeleteRecently P came home with a carrier bag from the supermarket. As I started to unload the bag I noticed a strong "meaty" smell. He had shoved a tray of (yellow sticker) meat on its side down amongst the rest of the groceries and the shrink wrapping had been pierced so blood from the meat had seeped out, coating all the packaging on the rest of the items.
I was rather miffed as I had to wash everything - even packets of biscuits - before putting it all away and re-wrapping the meat.
He just shrugged and said he couldn't see what the problem was!!!
But if they noticed it had leaked from another order I would think they should have re-bagged your order and delivered it to you clean.
ReplyDeleteThe convenience of having one's groceries delivered (after someone shops for you and collects all of them) is certainly worth some occasional annoyances. I speak from experience!
