Courgettes

A big beautiful yellow courgette flower . . .

. . . on a big beautiful plant . . .

. . . produces small deliciously buttery soft courgettes . . .
. . . which will quickly grow into marrows if left on the plant!

They can be eaten roasted, grilled, fried, stuffed (particularly when they've become marrows), pickled, conserved with ginger, or raw.

Try slicing raw courgettes thinly lengthways and drizzling with a mixture of lemon juice, olive oil, honey and pepper or with a vinaigrette of balsamic vinegar and olive oil - absolutely delicious.
