Carrots!
This morning, they had carrots, but look at what was hidden among them. What is this misshapen root? Is it a hand, pointing to some unknown entity? Might it be a mediaeval building, with towers and an annex?
. It wasn’t part of a ‘wonky vegetables’ selection. I don’t know how it passed quality control if there is such a thing. It was good, though, crunchy and carroty. Gilbert looked quite nonplussed as I munched it.
I always liked finding those double carrots when I grabbed some at the grocers.
ReplyDeleteThey make me smile.
DeleteThe first photo suggests someone lying out on a deckchair, sunbaking their naked legs :)
ReplyDeleteI can see that, now.
DeleteI love carrots that have "branched out." Forward thinking, showing initiative, not content to be one of the crowd!
ReplyDeleteIndependence for carrots!
DeleteOur dogs understood carrots by the time I left too. Better that than scavenging walnuts in the front garden. They are incorrigible and can regularly be found grazing on fallen walnuts at this time of year. Your carrot is one of life's wonders.
ReplyDeleteDogs are quick to learn anything that might benefit - satisfy - their stomachs.
DeleteI can imagine the dog thinking 'she's eating my carrot!' Like Baby Roo when Tigger ate his malt extract in the Winnie the Pooh Stories by AA Milne!
ReplyDeleteIt was a look of betrayal.
DeleteGaudi's Sagrada Familia.
ReplyDeleteGreat interpretation. That cathedral is still not completed.
DeleteThat almost looks like a ginseng
ReplyDeleteIt does, rather, though without as many 'roots.'
DeleteOoh, definitely a pointing finger and thumb.
ReplyDeleteWhat could it have been indicating under the soil?
DeleteWhen I was young carrots often looked like that, always homegrown, dad would not discard any food because of looks.
ReplyDeleteI like conjoined vegetables - they're interesting.
DeleteI love it when I open up a bag of carrots that I find a funny one now and then. Makes for a cheerful cooking.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have something original.
DeleteGot to love a wonky carrot. :-) xx
ReplyDeleteQuite!
DeleteWhen my dad was alive he always grew a garden and he would get lots of crazy looking carrots like that.

DeleteHow provocatively Miss Carrot lay upon the snow white sheet that spring morning.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if her desires were satisfied.
DeleteI think it might be a tower that Rapunzel lives in, or maybe 2 towers that rent hotel rooms to fairies. for some reason it makes me think of faries. beau loves carrots but people food tends to mess with his pooper just like his ibs mommy
ReplyDeleteA Rapunzel tower it could be, certainly. We limit our dogs' carrot intake, much to their disgust.

DeleteIt's a treat to find a misshapen carrot in a bag.
ReplyDeleteIt is, indeed.
DeleteIt looks like some kind of fantastic tree. Maybe an Ent.
ReplyDeleteOoh, yes, an Ent . . .
ReplyDeleteBefore you asked, I saw it as a hand missing fingers.
ReplyDeleteFirst impressions are interesting.
DeleteI know it isn't but it made me think of a flower bud.
ReplyDeleteThat's different!
DeleteI had no idea dogs loved carrots!
ReplyDeleteAs for the wonky carrot duo, my first thought was naked legs. I see that I'm not the only one :-) xxx
Great minds and all that . . .
DeleteMy father used to find similar carrots in his garden. They are harder to peel, I find, but interesting to look at!
ReplyDeleteI rarely peel carrots - a wash or a scrub and they're good to go.
DeleteI wasn't aware that dogs enjoyed carrots!
ReplyDeleteAs long as they taste good it doesn't matter about their shape.
All the best Jan
I agree. Shape is immaterial.
DeleteI like that carrot lol
