Fields of
Tequila
To be more precise, fields of blue agave which will contribute to Tequila! .jpg)
Agave tequilana, commonly called blue agave (agave azul) or tequila agave

An image of a field of blue agave appeared on my screen earlier this week. I took a screen shot, but cannot find it now!

I wondered if you might somehow tie this post in with your last one about worms, because they are often added to bottles of tequila :-)
ReplyDeleteI could have done, but forgot!
DeleteI have heard worms are in bottles of tequila, one worm per bottle, but never understood why.
ReplyDeleteRather off-putting, but I've never tried tequila.
DeleteIt's a beautiful colour...
ReplyDelete. . . as a plant and a bottle . . .
DeleteWow, I have no idea what tequila agave was made from!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know, either.
DeleteI have never tried tequila - too strong for me - and have never thought about how it is made. It seems agave is a very useful plant.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried tequila, either.
DeleteI won't drink tequila but I do have to say the color of the bottle and the color of the plants is a color I truly like.
ReplyDeleteThey are a lovely colour.
DeleteI'm not a drinker and I had no idea that agave was used in tequilla
ReplyDeleteIt was news to me, too.
DeleteIt is a beautiful colour however it tastes. But why is a worm added I wonder.
ReplyDelete😟
DeleteWell I went and asked the question and my co-pilot said. This is a persistent myth, it is forbidden to put worms in tequila. But another Agave spirit drink called Mezcal can contain the larvae of a moth in it due to a marketing strategy from the 1940s-50s. Showing that the spirit was strong enough to keep the larvae intact.
ReplyDeleteIt seems a strange way to prove the purity of a product!
DeleteI haven’t tried Tequila but I do like cocktails so perhaps I should…….

I wonder what I'm missing, too.
DeleteSomething else I learned from you today. Thank you :)
ReplyDelete😃
DeleteNice
ReplyDeleteIt looks nice.
DeleteBeautiful Agave but I don't think Tequilla is a drink I will be rushing to taste.
ReplyDeleteI have just spent a lovely afternoon with a cup of something not so strong, reading through all your posts that I needed to catch up on. My brain is now full to the brim for today. Glad to hear that Jellicoe is doing much better now.
Thank you. 😃
