Confusion

Confusion

All day Saturday I thought it was Sunday. Now, on Monday, it feels like Sunday. I wished my granddaughter a happy birthday on Friday, but it wasn’t her birthday until Saturday.

I write all the family dates in my diary at the beginning of the year, but somehow I put Kiri’s birthday on the wrong date.  I got my mother-in-law’s birthday date wrong every year – that was in the years before I wrote all the dates down.

I’m not the only one to be confused. My eldest daughter, who is usually extremely well organised, can never remember my wedding anniversary, and is always a day late. That’s probably because we have never made a big thing of it. I can’t really blame her – it took many years for the date to etch itself into my husband’s memory.

It would be easier if he were a shooting man. The Glorious Twelfth, the beginning of the grouse shooting season, is a date that’s never forgotten.

Confusion

This is written in response to an image from ‘Words for Wednesday’ (yes, I know it’s Friday.) ‘Words for Wednesday was started by Delores and now is hosted by various bloggers. The aim is to encourage you to write – a poem, a story, a song or whatever comes to you – using some or all of the prompts.

This week’s prompts are two photographic images supplied by Lissa. I chose the second as it looks as confused and hazy as the future of UK after Brexit!

My offering is a poor effort, much like the Prime Minister’s ‘deal’. You will find other and better responses here.

Confusion

All is confusion,
Trade in seclusion,
Empty delusion,
There’s no conclusion.

Some shout ‘sedition!’
Bring back tradition.
Ignore the suspicion
We need a magician
To make a decision.

Bertie and the cat litter

Bertie is thinking. Earlier on he discovered the (clean) cat litter and decided to investigate it more thoroughly.
First he tried eating it but it wasn’t very tasty and he spat it out.
Then he sat in it and thought it quite warm and comfortable but a little noisy for sleeping; the granules made a crunchy noise when he moved, so he jumped out.
Finally, he hopped into it and peed. Now he’s a confused puppy – is he a dog or a cat?
Bertie thinks: Maybe if I have a little snooze the answer will come to me!
