Soup
From Delores
Poetry Monday
Poetry Monday is the brain child of Diane from 'On The Alberta Montana Border'. Each week she provides us with a theme and anyone is welcome to join in and write a poem. However....and it is a BIG however...Diane has been on vacation for a loooooong time. Jenny and I were at loose ends so we've started taking turns providing poetry themes. We've had ice and snow, socks (thanks Jenny) and this week the theme is (are you ready for this?) SOUP. Yep...you heard correctly...SOUP.
(Apologies to Flanders and Swann. Should you feel so inclined, the following can be sung to the tune of ‘The Hippotamus Song’ chorus!)
Soup, soup, glorious soup,
Nothing quite like it
To make eyelids droop;
The veggies go under,
And then split asunder,
While turning themselves into
A glorious soup.

And it is glorious indeed....this is a fun little poem. I hope you're planning on joining us next week for DRIVING....a topic we can all relate to as we either drive or are driven lol.
ReplyDeleteWorking on it right now (believe that if you like!!)
DeleteI love poetry, this a very descriptive and fun poem.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Denise.
DeleteHaha - what a wonderful poem! Just don't wallow in your soup, not literally anyway :) Thanks for the link, I've not heard it before.
ReplyDeleteOoh, no - though I suppose it could be construed as a 'body soak'. Yuk!
Deleteglorious... fun....
ReplyDeletethank you for sharing your poem
Thank you, Tanza.
DeleteI love soup, the making of it fills the home with warmth and wonderful aromas and then the eating fills the bodies with warmth. but only in winter, I can't eat soup in the summer, as I don't like chilled soups.
ReplyDeleteNO, I'm not a fan of chilled soup, either.
ReplyDeleteEven your nice poem doesn't convince me to like soup ! A real thick one, where your spoon is almost standing with beans or lentils yes, but not a watery chicken soup ! Besides Gaspacho, I don't like cold soups either.
ReplyDeleteA lovely post and fun video. Thank you for this and for stopping by. It was so nice to see you and I have enjoyed my return visit.
ReplyDeleteI cooked a large casserole of soup yesterday, very veggie and savoury. Soup makes a perfect meal at this time of year.
ReplyDeleteFun verse too.
I like the hippopotamus song. Fun!
ReplyDeletelong time you didn't have a new post....
ReplyDeleteHope, everything goes well with you
oh wow, what a wonderful poem, so fun. Thanks for sharing!
