I'm sure we can all relate to this.
Cats are honest. They don't pretend to be something they're not. They don't seek to diminish people, building them up in order to knock them down. They don't tell lies. They don't ruin people's lives.
Most people are decent human beings, but it's the ones who are not who give mankind a bad name.
It just seems like the less than decent folks are so loud!π
ReplyDeleteVery true! Empty vessels make the most noise, though.
DeleteYes, Debby. Those folk are dominating.
ReplyDelete. . . and how!
DeleteSo true
ReplyDeleteIndeed!
DeleteYou always know where you stand with cats!
ReplyDelete. . . usually in an inferior position . . . πΊπΈ
DeleteVery true, though some cats might try to lie, when they yowl for food/treats pretending they are starving when they already ate.
ReplyDeleteThat is true, but it's not 'naughty' lying, is it? πΈπΊπΉ
DeleteCats do carry that majestic yet elegant quality
ReplyDeleteCats are some of my favorite people.
ReplyDeleteMine, too.
DeleteWhile I am devoted to cats I am sure there are a few among cats who are also possessed of pure evil. They are fully at one with themselves however whatever their motivations. They don't need analysts to come to terms with themselves. My fav is Horse in the Footrot Flats cartoon strip.
ReplyDeleteI don't know that cartoon. I'll have to look it up. I just did (look it up) I wonder why it hasn't spread further than New Zealand. I like Simon's Cat. πΉπΊπΈ
DeleteWhile generally I agree with that I don't agree on cats. They're sly annoying creatures. But then I've got to deal with a dozen or more wild cats who dig up my pots, climb all over outside tables, won't let us eat outside in peace, regularly haul things to the ground and break them. And generally break my nerves.
ReplyDeleteAs for folks.... there are many different sorts. A very mixed bag
I can understand that cats you've not invited can drive you mad.
DeleteMost of the people I know personally are decent enough and some are wonderful. But the stories I see on Facebook are awful. Are those stories made up? Or are only the most horrible stories selected for publication?
ReplyDeleteSome people seek sensationalism and don't deserve the attention they get.
DeleteCats are OK, except for the ones who use my garden as a toilet.
ReplyDeleteThat is annoying, especially if you've just planted something special.
DeleteFor cats . . . and all non-human creatures, I would add . . . any negative behavior is based on the instinct to survive. Humans, though - the negative behavior is based on gaining power and wealth. And some folks say humans are superior. Hah. I don't think so.
ReplyDeleteHumans are superior in some instances, but many other species are more empathetic, it seems.
DeleteSadly it only takes a few, and if given power......
ReplyDelete. . . and with loud voices and huge amounts of money behind them . . .
DeleteAll the cats I've known have had stronger personalities than many people.
ReplyDeleteThat made me laugh!
DeleteYour last sentence is it all about human race. Course I love my cat so I'm prejudiced towards kitties.
ReplyDeletePrejudice here, too
DeleteThis is so incredibly true. The sad part is that I've seen so many humans that are like that and seem to always come out on top. I suppose it just hasn't been their turn for the karma bus yet.
ReplyDeleteYou're right and it seems so unfair that people who do wicked things aren't always brought to book.
DeleteThat's why I would never name a dog "Trump" !
ReplyDeleteQuite so!
DeleteI was never a cat person UNTIL we have the best ever grand cat. I do understand now about cats.
ReplyDeleteThe comment above is by Judee at Gluten Free A-Z blog. Sorry- forgot to sign in .
DeleteAww, so sweet.
DeleteSo true.

DeleteBeau is a dog and loves cats, rabbits, coons, possums and all humans. I have often said out loud, to bad humans are not like you Beau. He loves everyone he comes in contact with, human or critter. I think cats and dogs and humans are all alike in that some are good and some are not.. the only difference is the humans choose to do what they do,
ReplyDeleteThere are no bad dogs, only bad owners and bad breeders. Go, Beau! πΆ
DeleteAnimals are so rational. They tell you what they want, you comply, they're fine. They don't whine that you should have known what they really meant, and you shouldn't need to be told, etc.
ReplyDeleteI wish humans would speak as clearly.
DeleteHa! I can ABSOLUTELY relate to that.
ReplyDeleteOlga likes cats too, but mostly to chase.
Ha ha! Our fist Jack Russell once chased a cat, but the cat sat down and looked back at her, and she didn't know what to do. It was funny.
DeleteWhen we later acquired a young cat, one of the other JRs jumped up on my lap in confusion. I think we were lucky, or at least our cats were, with our Jack Russells (all four of them!).
*first*
ReplyDeleteI believe that is a Mark Twain quote. He was known to be a cat lover.
ReplyDeleteI just looked it up - should have done so earlier - and it was by Mark Twain, as you said, but about a dog.
DeleteI've never had a cat as a pet because I'm allergic.
ReplyDeleteMy son-in-law loves cats but cannot have one because, like you, he's allergic to them.
DeleteI'm not really a pet person, it's not that I don't like pets, it's just I have never had a strong ambition or want to own one.
ReplyDeleteHumans (and probably pets) come in all shapes and sizes, a mix of personality ... if you treat someone kindly more often or not they treat you the same ... but of course there are always exceptions to this !!!
Hope you are having a good weekend.
All the best Jan
I think there are a lot of people, maybe the majority, who feel as you do about pets. I can understand that. The weekend is going well - England beat France in the rugby, which was unexpected.
DeleteAnd so many of those people are running around in the U.S. government.
ReplyDeleteYes, it would seem so . . . tragic.
DeleteHaving spent a lot of time with cats lately, I can honestly second this. They are what they are! Like them, or leave them. I LIKE them!
ReplyDeleteSo do I! πΊπΈπΊ
ReplyDeleteThat was my father’s favorite phrase except that his was “The more people I come across, the more I like my dog.” I didn’t realize he was quoting Twain of sorts. I am not sure he did either :)
ReplyDeleteYour father was a policeman, so he would have seen the very worst of people.
DeleteI totally agree! xxx
ReplyDeleteI thought you might. πΊπΈπ»
