Haiku Friday – English Summer

Blue skies and sunshine
Give way to thunderstorm clouds
And heavy rain.

English Summer days –
All the seasons come at once

To upset our plans.

Barbecues and fairs
Fall foul of the elements,
So too school sports days.

We make do and mend
And take everything inside -
Cramped, wet and steaming.

We do not complain

For our green and pleasant land
Falls soft on our eyes.

The summer rains started here in Ohio today too, its nice to not have to water my plants, but annoying because I can't be outside!

that's so pretty! i agree--i love how the rain keeps everything green. We're actually having a lot of rain here in CO and everything is still green--i love it! :)

Lovely Haiku ;--)
I wish for rain ... often but it doesn't come.
