Grandma's Goulash at Succinctly Yours hosts this microfiction meme. Each week she posts a photographic prompt for inspiration and the challenge is to write a story using no more than 140 characters or words. Below is this week's photo followed by my offering.

‘This is my entry for the Turner Prize.’
‘Interesting but it needs more,’ he said.
‘Ponder this,’ she said, drawing a symbol at the bottom.’
(139 characters)
And I could just imagine it winning the Turner Prize :-)
ReplyDeleteFunny. Enjoyed it.
I'd say that definitely qualifies as a succinct story.
ReplyDeleteNice. I like how you worked in the word ponder.
ReplyDeleteNicely succinct, with a mystery twist, Janice! I like it.

Hi J.L. ~~ Too bad we can't have a better look at the symbol. I hope for her sake it makes her a winner.
ReplyDeleteIf she wins first place she should take the £25,000 and run.
..
I bet she would win a prize at the Vancouver Art Gallery. They show the worst crap I have ever seen. By the way, I love the caption!
ReplyDeleteNow there's a girl going places with an imagination like that!
ReplyDeleteIt is a mystery as to what she has drawn. Hmmm...could it be the bottom line? I'm wondering how it could win a big award!?! Kudos to you for using the WOW.
ReplyDeleteA clever twist turning a graph into an artwork! Good one!
ReplyDeleteI drew a total blank on Turner Prize, so did the Google thing. I found an amazing array of art images. Could the graph with the mystery symbol win? Seems plausible. Interesting slant on this photo.
ReplyDeleteSuch a different take on for this week. I love it :-)
ReplyDeleteA unique twist on the challenge, one can never guess what will pass for art.
ReplyDeleteIs it art or is it not-that is the question. Okay, maybe not as funny as it was in my mind... Good take this week!
ReplyDeleteYou've created an intriguing story, with info, but no details. Nice!
