Arthur is adorable. Can't believe he braved the water that must have been very cold!
ReplyDeleteHe has a lovely, thick coat, aand it's quite mild at present.
DeleteHappy wet dog... and lots of towelling at home.
ReplyDeleteHe'd more or less drip-dried by the time he reached home.
DeleteA bird dog!
ReplyDeleteHe is!
DeleteI'll just say brrr to the cold wet, lol. Glad Arthur enjoyed the outing.
ReplyDeleteYou wouldn't catch me in there . . .
Deleteyou go Arthur, you are such a good boy to come out when called and every one was happy, you, daddy and the birds
ReplyDeleteHe is a good boy - busy, but good.
DeleteThat looks lovely woods for a walk.
ReplyDeleteSounds like Arthur enjoyed the outing.
All the best Jan
We're luckily to have beautiful woods around here.
DeleteArthur must be completely satisfied: soaked, tired, and happily drifting off to sleep after all that swimming
ReplyDeleteA very good dog!
DeleteA good reminder that when the barriers are removed, we all have a purpose to fulfill.
ReplyDeleteArthur is a gun dog, so working is in his genes.
DeleteSounds like Arthur had quite the time. The Herons? Not so much!
ReplyDeleteThe herons could have taken off. Arthur can't fly!
DeleteI'm glad Arthur got a couple of swims, but also glad he came when called.
ReplyDeleteHe's a very good dog.
DeleteWhat a good boy to give up the chase and come when he's called!
ReplyDeleteWell trained by his mistress, our daughter.
DeleteGood training there.
ReplyDeleteExcellent.
DeletePhew! Good job Arthur is so well trained.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure about the birds being two herons? The one on the right, spreading its wings, looks more like a cormorant to me.
I thought it might be a cormorant, too. I looked at various photographs of herons in different poses and decided, on balance, it was a heron. I'm happy for someone to prove me wrong, though.
DeleteIt‘s the beak as well, not just the pose. But as you say, it could just as well be a heron.
DeleteIt's such a cormorant-like pose.
DeleteWhat a good boy Arthur is to come when called.
ReplyDeleteHe's been well trained by my daughter, and he is a very intelligent dog
DeleteArthur was very brave attempting to get to those herons - and, if not I'm not mistaken, a cormorant as well - but I don't think he would have stood a chance! xxx
ReplyDeleteThat makes three of us wondering if one is a cormorant, four, if we count Barry. Cormorants are generally all dark, with no lighter colouring, I think, but I'm no expert.
ReplyDeleteMy husband, Arthur is a dog lover and he will LOVE knowing you named your dog Arthur.
ReplyDeleteHe's named after Arthur Wellesley, the 1st Duke of Wellington, hero of the Battle of Waterloo. We live not far from the Wellington estate at Stratfield Saye.
DeleteGlad Arthur listened to calls!
ReplyDeleteI agree with another poster who said one was a cormorant :)
We seem to be deciding on cormorant. I must admit that was my initial reaction.
