Reflections on A to Z 2023

Reflections on A to Z 2023

It was several years since I had participated in the A to Z challenge and it was almost at the last moment that I decided to take part. I started planning on 30th March!

I found it all-consuming. My theme was ‘Nature’ and I had to ensure that what I wrote was as accurate as possible; to that end, I had to conduct much research. I learnt a considerable amount along the way.

I was amazed at the number of participants and the wide variety of themes. Visiting other blogs and learning new things is always a pleasure and I was taken to realms of which I had only superficial knowledge and understanding. Some authors I intend to continue to follow.

Some participants' posts were long and detailed, others short and succinct. On balance, mine were too long, probably because I went off at a tangent so many times. In person, I speak little, but am a good listener, so I compensate for that when I write.

I didn’t visit as many blogs as I intended and accessing and commenting on some was just too off-putting.

Will I do it again? I don’t know.

Thank you to everyone who visited my blog. It was good to interact with you.

Congratulations to all who took part and completed the course.

  1. I hope you do return for A to Z next year. I enjoyed your photos and posts, and thanks for visiting/commenting on my blog. I also did not write ahead and didn't realize my blogs would end up being long due to so much content to cover. Next year, I hope to remedy that by planning ahead, photo blogging with shorter posts, and visiting/commenting more. Hope to see you in AtoZ 2024!

  2. Never too long when you had so much to show and tell about nature. But I'm a big nature fan. Thank you for the work you did.

    1. Thank you, Stephanie. It's quite taxing to keep up, isn't it? By the way, I can't access your blog.

  5. I realize I need to go back and read these A-Z posts. Some days are better than others for me and blog visiting. Your comment about speaking little, but being a good listener sounds like me. Do you suppose that is an Aries trait?

    1. Maybe it is an Arien trait - I'd never considered that. Are you fully recovered now?

  6. I enjoyed your A-Z, but it isn't something I would do myself and I didn't visit other sites. I spend too much time with the computer already.

  7. I understand what you mean, River. The world can shrink to just the keyboard and the computer . . .
