Mornings like this make me feel glad to be alive.
There are flight paths over our house heading out from Heathrow. You can see con trails in the photos. Sometimes the aircraft are very noticeable; at other times they seem to drift over silently, no doubt all to do with cloud cover, wind direction, air density . . . ermm, ermm . . .

Tomorrow we are promised/threatened heavy rain so we'll be back to grey skies. I look forward to it - no, really!

ReplyDeleteMarvelous, gorgeous captures! I love all those wispy clouds! We get a lot of those here in Seattle as well, and lots of contrails as we are relatively close to SeaTac -- our airport.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Yeah, it would rain when I'm going to London! :) Nice shot... I took some skywards ones, but haven't posted them.
ReplyDeleteIf nothing else it'll give them another excuse to close the roof at Wimbledon! Twice in a year eh? Worth every penny!
ReplyDeleteGlorious skies over your way. I know what you mean about waking up to a sky like that. Thanks for the nice comment on my blog. My son and his new bride are in Italy and my niece and her young man have flown home. In fact they had a lay-over at Heathrow on their way back to Germany. It's very quiet around here now and we are slowly coming back down to earth.
ReplyDeleteskies like that make me glad to be alive too! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat clouds
ReplyDeleteLove that second shot! Looks like the skies parted for the aircraft. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
My post is here: Carletta’s Captures.
A very beautiful picture. As I live close to an airport, too, I was thinking about a photoblog about planes in heaven. Could be an idea for the next skywatch friday. And I learned a new word "contrails". A nice weekend to everyone.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sky - thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteNifty views of your London skies. I'm waiting for the second semi-final between Roddick and Murray after watching the Federer - Haas match earlier ;--)
