Jellicoe gives Gilbert a good wash
I think, in fact I'm sure, that Roxy and Gilbert enjoy Jellicoe and Herschel's attentions. The cats concentrate on the dogs' faces, especially their eyes and ears.Ears can be quite ticklish but the cats, though thorough, are careful.
Is it entirely selfless, or do they get some cleaning back again?
ReplyDeleteThere might be an occasional slurp from a dog but mainly it's all one way.
DeleteI'm sure the dogs do really love this, it might trigger buried memories of when their mums cleaned them as babies, so it would be comforting.
ReplyDeleteI think you're probably right:-)
DeleteAre you sure all that action is just for cleanliness?
ReplyDeleteIt looks sexy :)
DeleteYou made me laugh! Ears are erogenous zones, after all.
DeleteI'm not sure that I'd enjoy being licked by a cat.....but then I'm not a dog.
ReplyDeleteCats' tongues are quite rough and prolonged licking on human skin can feel quite sore.
DeleteHeHe! I rest my case.....

That was really interesting. Thank you, Willie:-)
DeleteAs you remarked, cat tongues are rough, whereas dog tongues are smooth. I am not sure that residue that comes from eyes would be very tasty but cats to their own.
ReplyDeleteUgh!
DeleteAwww, that's a lovely video clip, our dogs groom each other occasionally but are allergic to cats !!!!
ReplyDeleteAlison in Wales x
They don't know what they're missing . . . ;-)
DeleteA free and friendly bath must be welcome.
ReplyDeleteThey seem to appreciate it.
DeleteSo sweet. What a clever protective garment. I'm glad to see from yesterday's report that Gilbert is recovering well. He really is darling.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Stephanie. It's so much nicer than the buster collar.
ReplyDeleteGilbert definitely seems to enjoy the grooming session! xxx
ReplyDeleteI think it's quite relaxing for him:-) x x x
