April A to Z blogging challenge Wisdom
‘Wisdom comes with age,’ it’s said,
But what age must I reach
Before perception fills my head
And thoughts precede my speech?
With every passing year I find
I’m child-like yet and silly,
While others educate their minds
I’m still just froth and frilly.
I should be wise by now, you see,
It’s showing in my teeth,
But though I may look ninety-three
I’m eighteen underneath.
I love the poem! I keep waiting for my wisdom to kick in :)
ReplyDeleteOh wonderful!
ReplyDeletethere is wisdom in remaining 18 underneath
ReplyDeleteYes...I so identify with this! I still get too giddy about life to ever be deemed wise, and also feel young inside, despite how my aching body belies that rumour. LOL...:)
ReplyDeleteI love the poem, too, but I think Isabel is probably right. Remaining young underneath is very wise. I think I'm 32, but I look 64. LOL
