Each week she posts a photo that could be the cover of a book. The aim is to:
'Write a book jacket blurb (150 words or less) so enticing that potential readers would feel compelled to buy the book.’
Here is this week’s cover and my blurb.

A Penny for Your Thoughts
Dave Redmond’s head is pounding. He hears running water and crawls towards it, desperate to slake his thirst. He has no idea how he has arrived in this remote place. The last thing he remembers is unlocking his car.
He hears soft footsteps and turns to see the tall brunette he questioned in the bar last night. She asks him, ‘Do you still want to know what happened to your friend?’ He struggles to remember. It wasn’t a friend he was looking for but an enemy, maybe a deadly one. Should he tell the brunette? Whose side is she on?
A shot rings out and the girl drops. Scarlet streams from her head.
The next few hours are fraught with danger as Dave draws on all his special military
training to escape the assassin. He is in unfamiliar territory – the killer isn’t.

This sounds like a great adventure is going to happen, definitely want to read more.
ReplyDeleteWhoa! What a great blurb ... I can just picture it all, especially the scarlet blood.
ReplyDeleteIf you get a minute, could you please revist mine? I added the first story for comparison and am taking a poll.
Thank you, and have a great weekend,

ReplyDeleteI like the sci-fi twist with this-I was thinking, "Ooh..." when I read it. A definite must read!
ReplyDeleteThe blurb itself is so thrilling that the actual book would be more so! Great job with this!!

Very "Robert Ludlum-ish" and I've read everything he wrote. I was a fan of the Borne Identity long before Matt Damon even thought of turning it into a movie. Your blurb sounds exciting with all the elements of a great thriller!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, a lapse of memory, dead brunette and a killer! That would be a very exciting story.
ReplyDeleteoh nice blurb! I'm completely drawn to the plot!
