Villa Vie

                                                   Villa Vie

Villa Vie Residences is offering a four-year cruise. You may remember that one of its cruise ships, Odyssey, was stuck in Belfast for four months before being able to set sail on a world cruise that was to last three and a half years.

It seems patrons may be able to choose cruises of varying lengths.

  • One-Year Escape from Reality
  • Two-Year Mid-Term Selection
  • Three-Year Everywhere but Home
  • Four-Year Skip Forward
Will there be enough berths to accommodate all those who long to escape the next four years?

  1. I suspect that fellow passengers would soon make you feel that you had not escaped at all... that you had stepped out of the frying pan right into the fire.

    1. I think you're right. It's not my idea of fun.

  2. I'm not sure about this. I don't think I want to live with thousands of strangers for years in close quarters. My brother has done 6 months at a time though.

    1. I don't like crowds and certainly would not appreciate being at close quarters with hundreds or thousands of others.

  3. I wouldn't mind six months every winter to somewhere warm and inexpensive away from our cold and rain.

  5. Four years on a ship away from family, can you imagine it? Still I guess if you're rich enough for that cruise you just pop home every now and again

    1. Maybe people don't have families or don't want to be with them. Sad.

  6. I have read of people living from one cruise to the next.

    1. Yes, it's quite a trend. Not my cup of tea, though.

  7. Hi Janice - should be booked up for all four years ... without any connectivity ... a desert island or two over the years, anything to dilute what's going on - as JayCee says 'my year of hell ... but frankly now it might make a huge change to life ... some will love it though - cheers Hilary

  8. The people who really need to get away won't be the ones who can afford it, though.

  9. I don't think I could do a week let alone 4 years! Not a big fan of buffets, I just like sitting down at the countertop with my family. Sounds fun in theory.

    1. It's like a holiday camp on the sea, a huge moving block of flats.

  10. I love being on the water, but I think that would be a bit too much.

  11. These options are actually quite bizarre lol

  12. With all the horror stories I've seen from TikTok about cruises when things go badly, I don't think I would ever take a cruise at this point. Plus I don't want to be on the water. No thanks.

  13. Nightmarish- I would rather hide out in my closet, which I am likely to do. The real stuff has not hit us full force yet and we have no idea!!! History repeats and "never again" become,s "well, except for now"
Amerika is a sink hole dragging with it a few other countries, just for company...Out of balance, off kilter, anything can happen and will.

    1. The orange one is so unpredictable that anything could happen and probably will. Kiss freedom and democracy goodbye.

  14. I would volunteer to go but a cruise is my nightmare lol. I'm not sure what I'm going to spend the next four years doing - burying my head in the sand and hoping we all survive without any lasting damage to the next generation.

  15. Even if I wanted to do this (which I don't) I could never afford it.

    1. Those who can afford it are possibly the least likely to feel the impact of the next four years.

  16. Years?? A 40 minute ferry ride around the harbour is plenty for me. I love boats and being on the water, but I love being at home on the land too, where I have all my things.

    1. Me, too. The thought of being with hundreds of others in a space impossible to get out of fills me with horror.
