Collie walk

I saw this on a friend's Facebook page. The first two dogs remind me of cats . . .

What do five Border Collies get up to when they're not working sheep? Well, they make their own entertainment ...

  1. Oh, Janice, I just LOVE it. You could see the herding behaviour in their every move. Aren't they wonderful? We had a Scotch collie when I was a teenager. He'd herd our cats, to keep them close to home. Then, when one had kittens, he appointed himself godmother to the kittens, picking them up and taking them back to the mother when he thought they had strayed too far.
He died 45 years ago and sometimes I still miss him.

  3. Glad you enjoyed it:-)
The headmistress of the first school I worked in once had a collie who used to herd the children. He also attended church but always walked out when the vicar commenced his sermon - I'm sure many of the congregation would have liked to follow suit!

  4. I loved the video. The only time I saw our dog Maggie do that was when we were walking and she saw a white poodle ahead of us. I figured it was a herding instinct and she thought the poodle was a sheep.

  7. Too funny. Our border collie/australian shepherd mix does that same walk and the same burst of speed rush. They are fantastic.
