Something odd
. .
. is happening to my Reading List. The most up-to-date post appears, from
whomever, and is then followed by posts from 5, 6, 7 years ago from people who
no longer blog. It’s been happening for a couple of days and is irritating, to
say the least! Then I have to scroll back to see if I’ve missed any recent
posts from current bloggers.
Is anyone else having this problem?
Yes I am having this exact same problem Janice - my page is showing posts from a lady I follow who has not posted for around 5 years. Blogger is driving us all bonkers lately!
ReplyDeleteIs it to keep us on our toes, do you think? 😗
DeleteI think so far mine has been alright. I have been having trouble being signed out and then not being able to sign back in! Maybe there are having a glitch of some kind
ReplyDeleteThere's always something going on with Blogger.
DeleteI seem to be dropping off people's lists. I have no problem because I follow blogs through Feedly and don't use the Blogger system.
ReplyDeleteWhen people who used to comment no longer appear to do so, one is left wondering how one has offended them.
DeleteSame here. Very frustrating!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to read posts from years back, but not at the cost of missing current posts.
DeleteThankfully I am not having this problem.
ReplyDeleteThank your lucky stars.⭐
DeleteGz mentioned this at 'Ook'. I haven't seen it here, although bloggers been giving me fits about signing in.
ReplyDeleteFrustrating, isn't it?
DeleteRegular blogging friends might have dropped off because they died, left the country or became bored with blogging, not necessarily because Blogger is problematic. When two of my blogger mates passed away, I was devastated because I had thought of them as real friends.
ReplyDeleteI've lost a couple of bloggers I regarded as friends, too.
DeleteIt's been a while since a disruptive 'update' has sent us into weirdness. I wonder what some whizzkid decided to upgrade this time!
ReplyDelete. . without conducting a thorough analysis . . .
DeleteYes! Loads of them appearing. Such a pain.
ReplyDeleteThey do rather get in the way, don't they?
DeleteNo problem here. It is all your fault.
ReplyDeleteOf course. Everything is my fault . . . 😥
DeleteRandom bloggers keep disappearing from my Reading List so I often miss their blogposts until they suddenly reappear days later...too late for me to comment.
ReplyDeleteVery annoying.
Yes, I've had a few absentees, too.
DeleteSame here, I have post from 8 ears ago and a couple of bloggers are not showing up on my list, hopefully they will sort it out soon.
ReplyDelete🤞
DeleteJust this morning I have someone's blog that is dated 5 years ago and there's about 20 of them I quit scrolling through them all.
ReplyDeleteIt's exasperating.
DeleteI never activated the "reading list" so I don't have this problem but Blogger causes other irritations regarding which there is no facility for complaining. I get comments from long ago, randomly sent to "Spam" and sometimes they are my own comments in reply to visitors' remarks.
ReplyDeleteI get my published comments appearing in spam, too.
DeleteI've rarely consulted the reading list lately because my blogging time is limited but I just did and there was someone's post from 2016 in there, mixed in with stuff I know is current. So, this is a universal problem, it would seem.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun, fun, fun . . .
ReplyDeletecoming to you from Florida USA and I checked mine and it is not doing it YET. for some reason when blogger makes a change they always do it first in Europe, and then a week or a few weeks later we get the same thing... I use feedly unless its down and then go to the reading list. I try to remind myself when these things irritate me that it is free, that eases the pain a little bit
ReplyDeleteGrit your teeth and be thankful. My husband thinks Blogger is awful, but he doesn't blog, so it matters little to him.
DeleteMine seems to be showing the ones with the most current posts!
ReplyDeleteLong may it last!
DeleteHi Janice - I've never used the Reading list - I started with Reader, then moved to Feedly - which now doesn't function properly, then came across Inoreader - recommended via another blogger ... and if necessary I'll set up a private list to send out new emails ... it's always been a guessing game ... once I started the A-Z challenge in 2011 - interesting to read everyone's comments. Cheers and good luck to us all!! Hilary
ReplyDeleteI use Feedly also, but I agree it has issues. I will check out Inoreader.
DeleteI've never come across Feedly. Perhaps I should investigate . . .
DeleteNo problems at the moment.
ReplyDeleteLong may it last!
DeleteNo...but I don't do a reading list! LOL. But as usually you are the FIRST one to comment on my posts, I noticed that you hadn't commented, so I came to visit to see if all was well with you! Glad it is, but hope your list issues work out.
ReplyDeleteOh, I hadn't realised I'd missed any of your posts. What a nuisance. That's the trouble - you don't know what you're not receiving. Thank you for checking. 😀
DeleteI’m having tech issues in a different way at the moment. I’m reading and enjoying your posts everyday
ReplyDeleteAlison in Wales x
Isn't it irritating, though, not knowing what you might be missing?
DeleteI'm having the same issues! It was becoming so annoying, as indeed up-to-date posts were easily missed, that I've started removing most of the old and no longer active blogs from my Reading List. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it sorts itself out soon, but in the meantime, I'm glad I'm not the only one having these issues ... xxx
ReplyDeleteI really need to go through my Reading List, as I know some of the ones I have followed in the past are no longer blogging, sadly.
DeleteThat sounds rather frustrating. Hopefully that gets resolved soon
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping!
DeleteBlogger does seem to have glitches from time to time, hopefully this will soon be resolved.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Not everyone is affected, which seems strange, though perhaps different browsers react in different ways.
DeleteYes, I could not read any latest posts from the regular. Blogger does this near the end of each year
ReplyDeleteI hadn't noticed that before. Interesting.
DeleteYes, but I am actually enjoying those old posts!
ReplyDeleteIt is good to read old posts, it's true.
DeleteI haven't noticed anything amiss
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's different browsers that are affected.
DeleteOh gosh, my reading list seems to be ok.
ReplyDeleteThank your lucky stars! ⭐⭐
