Shadow Shot Sunday #85 January 2010

It is cold in UK, even in the soft South, but on a day like this, when the sun shines in a perfect sky and the ground is iron hard, it is glorious to be outside.

There is always green in the forest, providing a pleasing foil for the browns and yellows of dead bracken, fallen leaves and grasses.

The colours look warm!

There was no wind to flay the skin and make eyes water.

I never tire of this walk - it changes all the time while remaining familiar.
It was exhilarating to breathe in the clean, sharp air - and to spot shadows all around!
Thank you to Tracy from 'Hey Harriet' for the hard work she puts into organising and hosting this enjoyable meme. To see more shadows please click on the blue.

  1. I agree, a walk in the woods always changes even though each turn is familiar. What flower is blooming? What bird is sining today? What do the clouds look like? There is always something new to experience if we look and listen.

  2. Beautiful photos. Looks like the pups appreciate a nice walk in the woods, too.

  4. What lucky doggies to be taken for their walks in such a beautiful place. My dog is sitting here looking at your photos and feeling very jealous!

  5. Thank you all.
Our dogs ensure that we walk every day, come wind, rain or sun - and sometimes all three at once with a couple of other elements thrown in.

  6. Beautiful photos of your walk under such clear blue skies. Only the jacket lets me know how cold it is there. Wonderful shadows too ;-)
    Hugs and blessings,
