I enjoy having flowers in the house but there are few places where they can be safely placed where dogs tails won't knock them over or cats teeth and paws attack them.
So I put them in the kitchen, where I can see them. It's logical since I spend quite a lot of time in this room! Today I bought freesias - I can almost drink the perfume of these beauties - and a yellow Guzmania.
It will be a few days before the freesias open fully but already the bromeliad complements the colour of the yellow freesias . . . . . . and the pink of the pig on the wall tones with the purple of the deeper freesias.
There are some odd angles here to try and hide the less pleasing aspects of my kitchen. (Did I mention that I shall be sacking the housekeeper - such a slovenly slattern she is ;-))
Thank you, as ever, to the industrious TF team for their hard work. To see more blooms from around the world please click here.
The freesias are very pretty. Nice flower and scent to have in your kitchen.
ReplyDeleteI love the scent of freesias. Apparently not everyone can smell them...isn't that sad?
ReplyDeleteVery nice indeed.
ReplyDeleteOh yes that's a very nice combination and flower arrangement. Happy new year!
ReplyDeleteLovely to see some colour Janice. Your choice of flowers is great. I like the wall pig too.
ReplyDeleteA very beautiful bouquet!
ReplyDeleteThank you all.
ReplyDeleteStine, it is indeed sad that some folks can't smell freesias but they are still lovely to look at :-)
Chris - we have sheep and cow tiles too - a veritable farmyard!
Oh I wish I could smell that scent now. Your photos are so lovely and the color combination is great too.
ReplyDeleteMy thanks, Denise. Shall I bottle the essence and send it to you?
